Level 1 DJing members have been introduced to the CDJ-3000
The most recent lesson, in the Level 1 DJing classes, was a first opportunity for our participants to get in touch with the top professional dj-multi players, Pioneer's CDJ-3000 - the most modern machines for mixing.
So last week, our school's DJing room was filled with dozens of CDJ-3000s on every desk, so that the DJ Survival Academy's members could get a hands-on experience with these machines found in top clubs.
It was a first attempt for them to get used to the information on the screen, to understand what they see and how they should use this technology - but not rely on it, as our school's philosophy is that a DJ should depend on his/her ears and not on his/her eyes.
We talked about the utility of the fader, what BPM mean in a track, how you set a Cue point on a track and, also, prepared them for the transition they will face in a few weeks, from this highly sophisticated machine, back to the CDJ-100 and at the end of the season, to the pickups!
